Remote wire
My Blaupunkt head unit came with no remote wire incase i wanted to add a external amp. what i did was spliced into the head unit's 12 volt switch wire. is this gonna affect the external amp or the head unit?

my remote wire is connected to a relay and it turns on my amp and extra fan to keep it cool

You should be fine. There's not a lot of current draw to turn the external amp on.
