I ordered an Alpine CDA-9827

I was torn between the Alpine, and a Clarion 645. I only wish that the Alpine has green display so it would look at home in my 98 Camry LE V-6. Come to think of it, if I do reverse glow gauges then it might look more at home. How dificult is it to do reverse glow gauges and does it look generic when done?

My next audio step it to get front and rear speakers. I am looking at lower line Polk, Infinity, and Alpine. I wouldn't worry that much about the rear speakers, but one of them doesn't work.

Get an alpine deck..simply the best...like a cda 7995 or 7897...I got my self a 7897 with the phantom face it looks nice. For the speakers I got some infinity kappas in the back and some 6.5" infinity kappas6.1 perfects in the front....nice deep bass without subs and the tweeters that come with the 6.1 perfects are sharp too.

I have the 9827. I like the deck, too bad there are no equalizers built on it. Why not change out the lights in your car to match your stereo instead?

I am thinking about doing that. I have been looking at some reverse gauges. But I am going to wait until install it and see what it looks like.

I think that the 9827 has several bass and several treble frequencies adjustments.

I changed out my lights on the inside dash to match the stereo. Blue is awesome! but i would recommend using more than one LED per bulb. i would take pictures, but i still havent got my camera back. Good luck and if you have any questions please ask.

Shuluke

yes there are small settings but not the equalizer engine that upper alpine units have.

So all you did is change out bulbs? What do you mean more than one LED per bulb?

Thanks.

I understand about the EQ.

Yeah, the bulbs just change out... Here is the thread i read about it on,

DIY Gen4 Gauge/Climate/Everything Lights

Its written by Mykelefty. He changed out his lights to a red. Well if you go to the place he went to they sell LED bulbs for the dash. I would recommend the bulbs that have more than one LED, because one isnt enough. When you go to the site, you will see different kinds of lights for the same bulb size. I would go with the multiple ones, even if they are more expensive. The one LEDs are not bright enough if you go with the color blue. There was another post i found that had a link to a site that showed how to add reversal gauges, and i used that to help me take apart my dash. I dont have the link and i dont remember what it was called. I never figured out how to take out the AC unit though.
