newb with speaker ??'s

Yeah, love being a newbie, I'll gladly go search if anyone has good search advice cause the stuff I was finding wasn't helping...that said,


I have a 91 SR5 pickup that is all stock. Obviously the system is severely lacking and worse the rears don't work at all, just some low level static coming through.

I tore into em' thinking I'd just replace the speakers and then there was a stock speaker box and inside of that was some circuitry to a wiring harness.

now what? I'm gonna replace the system but is that circuit doing anything other than working with the speakers? Can I just bypass them?
