4 speakers, 2 subs on amp

I'm planning on getting a 4Channel amp - whats the best way to hook up my 4 speakers and my subs? right now my subs are running parallel into a mono amp, and I assume I should keep that setup using 1 channel on the new amp. With the speakers, can I bridge two speakers into one channel, and then bridge the back two speakers into another channel?

Use the 4 channel amp for just the speakers. You won't have enough power to run 4 speakers and 2 subs off a 4 channel amp.

Get a d class mono amp for the subs. Use 4 gauge from the battery to the amps and use a distribution block to seperate the power lines to each amp. If you're not running a bunch of power use 4 gauge then after the distribution block you can use 8 guage to each amp. Have the two 8 guage ground wires from the amp connect into a distribution ground block. www.knukonceptz.com is a good place to get all your installation stuff.

i dunno if you did your subs yourself, but you need to make sure tat you have an inline fuse especially if you're going to add an amp. BTW I would definately not run the subs off a 4 channel, they are usually A/b amps and you would do much better with a D mono. what kind of amp do you have now? subs?

No i didnt do the subs myself, but i recently re-did the wiring...it does have an inline fuse by the battery. Speaking of which, isnt that fuse supposed to be the same as the fuse in the amp? Cuz my amp has a 30a fuse in it, and my inline fuse is 80a (originally 50a)

Anyways back to the subject - its a Xplod 480 Watt amp with 2 10" Xplod subs. (i know it sucks but thats why im upgrading).

I prefer AB on subs, how much power do you want to run should be your first question.

I'm familiar with A, B, and Class D amps but what exactly defines them as such - is it the wattage or just how the manufacturer decides to label it? (obviously Class D amps have most power, but is there a cut-off line for which class it falls under?)

I'm not sure how much power I want to run on the subs yet, because that also depends on which subs I get as replacements. For my speakers I'd like to send about 100W RMS per channel if I could

Just make sure the rms rating (not peak) can handle that kind of power.

Class D do not have the most power, they are just a little more effiecent amp than a class ab.

so you know power on the front what about the sub, 250,500,1K?
