question about my stock stereo sub...

I have a 92 Landcruiser with the 9-speaker audio and there is a sub all the way in the back passenger side 6 1/2 inches. There is very low noise to it and hardly pumps anything. The speaker, though, still looks good and not worn out although it may have gotten moist??? Anyway, I thought It was the amp that was going bad so I Changed that with a used on which was working great in the other car I got it from. When I installed the new one, I still get the same results as when I had the old amp on. SO now my last option is to change the 6 1/2 sub... Any suggestions???

6 1/2" sub? I would just ditch that thing and fab a new enclosure in the spot where it is at to hold a bigger sub. Or just disconnect it and get a bigger sub with a box. If you don't want to do any of that I'd try to fit an 8" sub in there. Is it a sealed enclosure or is it open air. If it is open air get an open air sub.

It has a sealed enclosure. WHat I could also do is put my bazooka sub in which I took off in my other car which I sold months ago. All I need is the wiring though as I left it all in the other car.
