Dual security complete on 2004 Camry

Had to hook up my new Camry so it could survive here in New York effin' City. Figured on a two layer security plan.

First had the standard Viper after-market alarm installed. $270 installed, with the usual rocker detector, glass detector, starter cutoff, LOUD 6-way alarm and remote control which opens/locks the doors. This type of system won't stop a professional thief -- it's just there to keep the kiddies away and make noise when the first dumbass amateur breaks the window or sits on the hood.

Then I got serious and installed a Ravelco. (www.neverstolen.com) It's basically a fancy wiring harness which intercepts the starter and fuel pump circuits in the engine bay and reroutes them through an outlet that installs in your dashboard. There's a plug that fits in the outlet which completes the circuits, and without this plug you CANNOT start the car at all, professional or amateur. Unlike the alarm the Ravelco should stop the real thieves. $350 installed.

So now what am I missing? I'm not interested in using a Club or one of those other things that locks up the steering wheel. Anyone care to try stealing my car just to see if all this works?

Just kidding!

That's too good for thieves.

I saw something in a magazine once that would shoot flames on the outside of the car in case you were being carjacked. I think some company in South Africa was selling it.

Basically, if you were getting jacked, you hit a button on the steering wheel and these 6 foot long jets of flame shoot out from under the front doors of the car and right onto anyone standing nearby. It would be great to have something like that for plain old car thieves and not just carjackers.

those south african flame jets are the real deal. Africans (sp) farmer have even gone to using a substance similar to napalm where it not only shoot fire, but a flaming jelly that sticks to the would be carjacker, I would definately like them on my whip

But wouldn't the temptation be great to fire those things up when the State Trooper is checking your ID on the side of I-95?

"Can I see your license and registration, sir"

"Yes, officer........"

WHOOOOSH!!!!!!

Pain generates are a great way. THere is also somethign called the dragon pack that fills your car up with smoke so that the theif can't see once he's inside the car. THe smoke won't stain the interior either.

That flame thing sounds like something nice to have. I would use it on really annoying people.
