help with amp selection

I have jvc 6.5 in the front and jvc 6x9s in the rear and I have a stock head unit. I want to get an amp and I might be adding a subwoofer. What is lowest wattage 4 channel amp I can get?

Thank You

You will need to find out the rms power the speakers can handle, also find out what Ohm they are as well. You could always go with one of the cheater amps...they put out low power @4ohm, and the lower the ohm the more power is produced to an extent. For example...the directed 1100d amp puts out 425wattsx1 @ 4ohms...700wattsx1 @ 2ohm, and 1100wattsx1 @ 1ohm. This is a mono amp, but you should be able to find one in stereo. It may just be easier to get one amp for your regular speakers, and have another for your sub...really depends on how you set it up though

the 6.5 front speakers are 150w and the 6x9 rears are 240w and they are both 4ohm. I havent checked if I have rca outputs are on the stock head unit. I own 93 camry le v6 with radio no cd player.

I don't think the 93 camry came with rca outputs, especially not, if it didn't come with a cd player. You will need a different head unit that has at least one set of RCA outputs. I would recommend one that has a high RMS output per channer for the head unit...that way you may not need an amp for the regular speakers unless you want really loud highs. You could use one amp for the sub...and use some cross overs for your regular speakers, so they won't get the lower frequency's.

If the speakers say 150w than that is probably max wattage. A 75w RMS X 4 amp will be good. The deck doesn't need an onboard amp if you are planning on going with a seperate amp. But most cd decks come with onboard amps. Look into Eclipse, Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Clarion and Kenwood for good CD players. Make sure to get a deck that has two or more rca preouts. And one has to be a non-fading sub preout.
