what is recommanded to do?

I have a 94 Camry V6 LE, my all the speakers on the passenger side isn't working (weird how they all go at the same time). So i'm looking at to replacing all the speakers in the car while i'm at replacing the passenger side, so they all match.

Now since I have an OEM stock deck. My question is, is there any specification I should be looking out for when getting new speakers? Like to match the stock deck output? And should I be matching front and rear speakers with same manufacturer so they sound similar?

Currently I"m looking at these to replace my front speakers and tweeters

Front speakers and Tweeters

Rear spearkers

I don't know if they will match my current stock ones in terms of output. I'm just really looking to replace the stock ones w/o going into amps and crossovers and stuff.

Thank you.

Personally I hate the sound from those speakers, you should really goto an audio shop and hear them first. You dont nessessarily have to match the output, but the only problem that you might come up against is that the output might not be enough to push the speaker. Any cheap speaker should be fine, but when you start getting into brand names such as Infinity, or the higher end Rockfords or JBL you will notice that they seam to distort because of lack of power.

oh they sound like crap? i really don't know what kind of speakers that will match the output of the stock deck.
maybe its cuz i don't follow much of car audio, but why does low output will distort the speaker? shouldn't OVER output distort the speaker?

thank you

yes, they both will distort...its hard to describe with text the best way to describe it, is that if the speaker gets pushed out but doesnt have enough power to get pulled back before the next push, it will sit there and clip out.

Underpowering your speakers is as bad as overpowering them

Actually those Clarion's you linked to at 8-40wrms might be allright off the stock h/u. I'm not 100% but don't stock h/u put out ~15wrms or about?

I've heard Pioneer entry/mid level speaks off stock h/u's and they sounded pretty good.

You're going to have to stick to the entry level stuff from whatever brand you decide on. Generally the higher level stuff requires more power to run them properly. Look at the rms or continuous wattage ratings of the speaks

If you do go with the Clarion's, look for a matching 6x9 rather than the rf.

Good luck!

well....the first thing i would do is make sure that its not the head unit thats broken. You wouldnt want to buy new speakers and have the same problem of the music turning on and off.
