thanks man, yeah i would much rather end up with too small a fuse over too large, kinda defeats the purpose,

i was thinking anyways, isn't a 60A fuse the max for a 4 gauge wire anyway? especially length from alternator to batt?

There is a big debate on that...some people say fuse other say don't. I think its more of a preference.

preference or not though, i do not know the anwser, but always wouldn't you rather buy a $10 fuse holder and $.5 fuse, than a new alternator or battery or car comp? Not that things would be that bad, but fuses never really hurt...
