USA Serious Sirius problems in my Camry

Has anyone else had a Sirius Satellite radio installed in their Camry? If so, did your installers do as bad of a job on yours as they did on mine? Any suggestions on where to find someone who KNOWS how to install these things properly in a Camry? I figured the guys at Best Buy would know what they're doing since they are selling the product. If I didn't take it back due to bad reception, I probably would have lost the car to an electrical fire. When they took the unit out to check it out, something snapped and all the power to the center console had died. Frustrating! Anyway, they "fixed" it, but now my side panels won't fit back in to place, the reception still stinks and they scratched the heck out of the top of my car where my receiver is. Any suggestions?

That's because you had Best Buy install it so you deserve your misfortune.

Anyway though, on a less serious note, where is the antenna mounted, and what your is your Camry? on Gen 3s, it's best to mount the antenna on the trunk because its next to impossible to get the wire under the windshield/rear window gasket. Other than that, make sure your antenna wire isn't being pinched any where.

How far onto the trunk lid is it, you'd probably want it to be about 6 inches from the edge.

The best place to mount the antenna is on the roof 6 inches forward of the rear windshield. This is beacuse you want to mount this above the highest ground plane and mounting it to your trunk will cause interfierence. cause the signal won't be abel to get through your roof to your trunk if your facing the satalite. On a side note, I had no problems tuckign the wires around the weather stripping

I think it may be a signal strength problem.

My Terk (supposedly the smallest on the market) antenna is inside the car on the back deck and except for a few buildings and hills works perfect. I did not want to mess around with putting it outside. Tall buildings will cause no signal.

The EP was right on the placement back from the windshield (after all thats where GM puts theirs)
