What harness/adapter needed for 97 Camry?

I'm trying to help my son transfer a Kenwood receiver/CD player into his newly acquired '97 Camry XLE. We checked Crutchfield and Scosche and both show that the adapter that plugs into the factory harness is two separate plugs, like this.

http://www.scosche.com/scosche.aspx?...&CategoryID=78

We went ahead and bought a Scosche TA02, but when we pulled the OE receiver, the factory connection is a single plug, measuring almost exactly 1 inch wide by 1/2 inch high, with two rows, each with a capacity of 8 pins (though not all positions on the receiver actually had pins installed). This is much smaller than the combined size of the two plugs.

Does anyone have any insight to share?

TIA

did the XLE have the premium system, and did you specify that when you bought the harness.

Yes, it has the premium sound system; the Scosche web site doesn't distinguish, and with good reason, as I found out from their tech support.

The system has a separate amp, and the harness that shows readily is the connection between the receiver/tape deck and the amp. Digging a little further in the dash, one finds the two connectors going to the amp, and these match up perfectly with the TA02, or the TA021 that WalMart sells.

Problem solved, son happy. Thanks for your taking the time to reply!

The adapter is no problem. There are two connectors in car.

The one connect to the OME head unit doesn't fit the TA02. It connects to the another adapter. So unplug it, use the later one to connnect with one of the two TA02 connectors .

Only one connector in TA02 fits.
