Okay this aint high tech but I need help

I got a 92 Truck with factory radio. Replaced the radio with another factory unit and still doesn't work.

Does this truck use an amp and where the heck is it?

Check the fuse..... Headunits don't use amps. Amps are for subs and speakers. Most likely a fuse, grounding or wiring problem.

I beg to differ.. many of the toyota stk radios use amps,, w/o them they wont work.. some of the amps are under the pass seat , and a few are in the dash.

Hmmm. Didn't know that. I had never heard of a headunit using an amp, but I don't know too much about audio stuff. Was just trying to help out. My fault.

I'm guessing I have an amp....I replaced the non working radio with a know good radio and got the same results. The radio comes on, lkights up, and tuners work......just no sound either radio.
