Thinking of an SQ car

Here is a 10 minute video of scott buwalda comp car, nice components! (since I have em) the file is 60 megs, so dial up is a no no.

The system was set up pretty good. I wonder why he didn't use dynamat/etc on the trunk lid?

He is going for sound quality by getting these components. Wouldn't having a matted trunk help improve SQ by not having a rattling trunk?

Matting just reduces vibration which helps soften rattling noise. Sealing loose body panels is a better way to reduce rattling noise.

Ridiculous. Makes me really wanna do something with my trunk... guess I'd have to wait for the sub set up first though.

HAY EDDIE YOUR SPEAKERS AREN'T MOUNTED HORIZONTALLY VERTICALLY BILATERALLY PARALLEL TO THE EQUATOR

Also, why would he need dynamat since his subs are firing into the cabin of the car so there shouldn't be any audible vibrations from the trunk.

I am pretty sure its dampened because he mentions that the trunk is a big sealed enclosure and the 6 x 9 holes are his ports. The only way to seal an enclosure is to dampen it or spray it.

The trunk lid is clearly not dampened. Oh well It looks like he knows what he's doing.

Well it is a SQ car, his subs are crossed at 31Hz they barely ever come on, notice he is running 6 amps at max 120amp current draw per amp, but he has a stock alt and battery. SQ cars run on 60dbs at comps, and a 130db burp.

DLS is a very very good SQ brand, my only gripe is that the grilles look like basketballs :P
