Factory slave CD player

Howdy all. Being the car guy in the family, I have been approached by a relative regarding their CD player. The car in question is a stock '98 Corolla that has the factory radio/tape player and the factory slave CD player below the cubby hole. The CD player just stopped working. It's like the power has just been cut. The radio works fine and I'm assuming the radio and CD player are going off of the same fuse (correct me if I am wrong).

The main point of this is to get the CD in the player out (it is from the public library and replacement cost is 4-5x as much as the CD actually costs). So, if anyone knows this setup and the possible cause, I am all ears. Now, if you can't provide fixit answers, I am also asking if anyone knows if there is a manul eject to this CD player. Other players have a small hole in which you can stick a paper clip and eject the CD without power. I cannot see one on the front and was wondering if anyone knows if there is one somewhere else on the unit before I tear apart the console.

Thanks in advance for any/all tips/help.

pull the unit out and check the harness, make sure it is completely plugged in. It could be a simple fix as that.

Did pulling the player out and checking the harness work? I'm having the same problem in my 99 Corolla LE ... a CD has been stuck in there for a year and it's like the power has been cut. My radio still works fine.

Also, I tried checking out PDFs at installdr.com but it asks for login info???
