Question Insall mobile video help!!

Hi there, I'm new to the forum but thought maybe someone could help. I have an 05 Solara and am trying to install an indash dvd player. Since the law requires the video turned off while driving the unit comes with two wires one to connect to the parking brake signal lead, and the other to the foot brake cord or brake lamp cord.

I really have no clue how to find these wires. I have everything up and running the cd works the radio works but I can't get the video to display because those wires arn't connected.

If anyone knows where to connect them please let me know. Thank you

Uh right...if you've installed the Alpine system before correctly, you wouldn't say those unfounded words.

For the '05 Solara, the brake wire is green/white at the brake pedal switch. The parking brake wire is red/white at the parking brake switch.

Depends on what brand it is... you definately can't do that with Alpines since you most do a certain sequence of brake/ebrake to let you watch video. There were bypasses made for display models but those are no longer manufactured and hard to find. You could wire yourself some toggle switches to do the combination by hand and let you watch video.

I dont see any place where it says he has an Alpine. Some of the other units that operate off the E-Brake switch a simple grounding of that wire will work.

So not totally unfounded thank you..

He asked for what are brake and parking brake wires for the car. And you tell him to ground both of it without knowing the fact that the brake wire is 12 VOLTS when the pedal is stepped on. Thanks for you help, I'll be sure to ask for your resourcefulness next time.

Yes I see that now I read a little closer. I should have read closer that much is true. My fault In any case your response could have been a little more polite or tactfull especially for a moderator I would think.

You set a fine example for correcting someone with a little bit of tact..
