i have been looking into tv's latly, and i have decided i want to go with a tv that comes right out of the dash. but i also read that you have to have the parking brake up to actully have the movie/video game to play. is there anyway i would be able to bypass that so i dont have to have the parking brake up? if you guys could help me out.
just hook up the parking wire upto a toggle switch.....so when the switch is one way, it thinks the brake is set, the other way the brake isn't set....
just ground the wire. the HU will have a seagreen wire (in my case it was), i just ground the wire to the chassis and the screen works at all times. when the ebrake is up it completes a circuit to ground, so all you have to do to complete the circuit on the stereo is to ground the wire that goes to the ebrake.
Use search next time. Find out what TV you're (thinking of) getting and then find the manual for it online and refer us to that so we can tell you how to do it.

I just got an lcd for my car and I'm planning to hook it up to the same switch as my gauges cuz I'll be using it while driving....
I always presumed that they need a positive feed and not a negative tho, since you're supposed to hook it up to your hand brake light (that's what my manual said)
but I guess I'll find out when I install it tomorrow tho
