Do i need an amp for my fm modulator?

hey guys, i currently have a monitor and a dvd player going on in my car now but i have one problem. I hooked up the sound thru the fm modulator. Now do i need a separate amp to accommodate the modultor? The reason i ask is because the volume is so small... I literally have to turn up the knob to the highest to hear something.

try switching the modulator to the radio station that has the lowest amount of interference, check the stations available and look for the lowest distortion, and its wired right?

the fm modulator doesnt use an amp of that type
- check the settings for the clearest station
- check your wiring, make sure everything is plugged in securly
- get a new modulator, try it out, if it doesnt fix the problem then return it

well what brand and what model modulator would be very good, loud, and clear?

Check to see if you have inline reducers for your modulator... if you do try removing them and see how it works. They should look like black boxes on the RCA wire.
