Panasonic Stereo

I want to get the Panasonic CQC-9800U stereo, but Crutchfield says it doesn't fit. Is there any reason why it doesn't fit my 2000 Camry LE?

I thought the mounting was pretty much standard mount for most cars? Will that stereo not bolt right in like other stereos with the two metal brackets?

It should be fine with the right dash kit. Just make sure you do the harness properly with 10 gauage ran from the battery.

Do you have the Single Din or Double Din Stereo?
Anyways it should fit no matter what, You'll need a dash kit and a wire harness would make it easier to install.

I have the double-DIN unit. Is the dash kit the drawer to take up the rest of the space that a single din unit doesn't take up?

The chasis size code on the Features and Spec page, IE for that particular stereo, but every other stereo that supposdedly fits in my car says IEJ. Does that mean anything?

Will I also need to replace the speaker wire?

just be extremely careful with the mounting screws, i believe the diagram on the side of the unit says 5mm max depth. I do believe your factory ones are longer, so use the one that comes with the cd player. It will cause the cd mechanism to jam if they are not the proper size, Im not 100% positive about the lengths, but match them up just to be sure, other than that your golden.

I was looking at the manual for that stereo, and it doesn't even have anything in there for installing via mounting screws. The manual only has instructions for mounting with the metal sleeve.

yes because pretty much any NON japanese car needs to use a mounting sleeve (cage). In most japanese vehicles, its a mount called ISO-din. Utilizing that factory brackets in the installation.
