how to disable the anti-theft audio system?

Hi there,

i have a 94 camry. the battery was discharged on the past weekend
which caused the anti-theft system to turn on. I fixed the battery
problem and now the car starts and drives fine. However, i can not
use neither the radio nor the cassette player. The worst thing is
that i purchased the car 9 mo.s ago and do not know the 3 digit
password which previous owner set.

There is a password written by the previous owner on the owner's
manual : [Key #: 14642] However, it does not work since i can not
enter more than 3 digits. According to the manual, i can only make 9
errors and i m already at 5. If i reach at 9 errors, i have to take the
car to Toyota dealer according to the manual.

is there anyone know how i can disable the anti-theft system?

Please advise.
John

You can try your local audio shop and see if they can reset it.

If not, you're going back to the dealer and they probably will charge you a fee for the reset.

You can also take the radio out and write down the serial number. If you find a nice enough dealer, they may tell you how to reset or use a universal reset code.
