Bazooka SUb splicing/Wiring question

I have a 92 L/C with a factory crapy ass sub so I obtained a bazooka bass tube for now. What I was thinking of doing is splicing the bazooka wire harness to the other wire harness connecting to the factory amp location. Is this possible?? Or could I just use the plug from my factory amp to my sub. Im not too good with audio stuff so I will appreciate all help.

You should be able to use most of the factory wiring for it. Check whether the factory sub uses high or low level inputs and select the correct Bazooka ones (RCA in general=low or speaker wires in general=high). Check the power output of the factory to the bazooka. If the bazooka is more wattage than the stocker, you'll have to run new power and ground leads, but the factory power can be used to run the remote turn on lead. If it is the same as the stock wattage (give or take 20-30w), splice the power and ground all from the factory harness for ease of installation.

Thanks Bob, I will start disassembling my panels and start the job. Hopefully, all goes good. I went to a professional shop and they are charging me $200 because my car is a Land Cruiser and I was like BS! I told the guy at the audio shop that If brought in a echo, would it be cheaper, and he answered yes.

Heh...that's cause the echo is made of Lego...almost kidding, but it took no more than 3 hours all in to install the bazooka I have in my echo hatch, and that included looking up the wiring colour diagrams, and using soldered connectors rather than taps and crimp connectors. Best $90 all in I've ever spent! (circuit city damaged box special)

Remembering what my custom sub and amp took me to wire in the Supra, it would have been upwards of double that time given all the pieces to remove and the fact that they're screwed together rather than clipped on. But of course, the other parts are that they see as an LC owner, you can afford a little more, and they can get it, and of course, they also get no profit from selling you stuff to cut the labour down either.
