Last week I lost my one of my most prized possesions...

I woke up one cold morning and as I was leaving the house, I turned on my head unit and kaboom! My amp begin to fizzle and shoot hot smoke out of the trunk. I quickly powered off the HU and about three hourse later I retry it (I know, I'm stupid) it was hittin for about 5 seconds and then kaboom and fizzle all over again. Turns out that my trunk isn't insulated, so dew formed inside the amp shorting it out, no resistance. Sucks, I know, has anyone else had this happen to them?

it happened to a friend of mine with a celica.

went through a car wash, and it turned out the trunk leak. killed the amp. he was sad.

sorry for your loss. mine started to act up a while back. I was heart broken, but it seems to have fixed itself now.
