rca to s-video adapters???

hey guys, i have a problem. Now i've been enjoying my puny 5.6 inch monitor for my in-dash dvd player for about a year now. A week ago, i've decided to upgrade my monitor to a 7.2 inch tft monitor. The problem is this: the original (that i've been using) 5.6 inch monitor came with these three cables: video rca cable(yellow), 12v power wire (red), and ground wire(black). But the new 7.2 inch monitor just has one connection which seems to me as a s-video cable. Am i right? Now how do i connect this s-video thing into my dvd player that only accepts the rca connections?

Cool

<-- is jacking copyrights. Props to the owner<s>.

Pin Signal
1 Ground
2 Ground
3 Luminance
4 Chrominance
5 -
6 Composite Video
7 Ground

******************************

Y = Luminance, Pb = Chrominance 1, Pr = Chrominance 2

I don't see how you could make it work, unless someone makes some really obscure black box. Doesn't look like a simple soldering job to me. You'd have to have some type of processor and buffer to convert the black-white-color signals on an S-video, into the tri-signal of "component" video.

They do make an adapter for s-video so don't worry. Only thing s-video is suppose to be better. You could probably find it on www.radioshack.com.

It should work as long as it can plug into your monitor.
RCA got signal and ground, where is power?
Since when anything got power from RCA?
Sorry, answer is no.

Sh@t it can't work. Your screen uses the power from the s-video connection. What you may need is a type of modulator that can convert the s-video to a composite. I'm not sure if they have one for cars.

Good pick up Pineapple.

I work for the cable maker that makes ALL of radio shacks cable.....They would only have a 6' or a 12' RCA to S-Video cable.....but it's not designed for cars...So it may not work at all.....you could try it though
