JBL Amp Location on 2005 Corolla?

I want to bypass the JBL amp in my 2005 Toyota Corolla LE. The car has the 6 Disc JBL HU with 200 watt amp.

Does anyone know the location of this amp?

Thanks!

Can't say I know exactly, but it may be behind the glovebox, as that seems to be the common area to place all the OEM amps.

It seems this is what I'm finding... although I have not actually looked for it yet.

Now I need to get my hands on a speaker wiring diagram.

Just in case anyone ever searches for this amp and wants to know... it's under the passenger seat. I also have a wiring diagram that I will post speaker color codes for at some point in time (after I verify they are correct).

Interesting...that's where the OEM amp for Gen3/Gen3.5 Camry was before.

Its definitely under the seat, and I would be interested in the pinout. I'm thinking about replacing this amp or the headunit, or both. The amp seems like a cheap design that has 25W at the most per channel RMS. They say it is an "8 speaker system" but I've never found more than 6 speakers. 2 tweeters, 2 front 6.5", and the rear 6x9s.

I only thought I had the 8 speaker system... after I got to checking my sticker I realized it was only the 6 speaker system.

The amp is surely a poor design. It is supposedly rated at 50wpc but I suspect as well that the rms is a measely 25wpc or less. I replaced it with a 4 X 50wpc Phoenix Gold Octane-R amp on the fronts only and it's a world of difference. I'm not overly excited about the highs but they will suffice. The 6.5's in the bottom of the door are awesome... (for a factory speaker)... they will handle the bass x-over at 50hz rather easily and sound very good. I was concerned that I might have to replace them but I will definitely keep them and consider replacing the tweeters with a soft dome later.

The schematic on the speaker wiring was right on the money.

You really won't need the wiring diagram... here are the color codes:

*THE POSITIVE/NEGATIVE WIRES ARE STACKED ON TOP OF EACH OTHER IN THE CONNECTOR*

RED/BLUE = POWER (30AMP FUSED) (THERE ARE TWO OF THESE IN THE CONNECTOR)

BLUE/WHITE = GROUND

RED/WHITE = LEFT FRONT TWEETER POSITIVE
BLUE/WHITE = LEFT FRONT TWEETER NEGATIVE

GREEN/WHITE = RIGHT FRONT TWEETER POSITIVE
BROWN = RIGHT FRONT TWEETER NEGATIVE

PINK = LEFT FRONT WOOFER POSITIVE
PURPLE = LEFT FRONT WOOFER NEGATIVE

LIGHT GREEN = RIGHT FRONT WOOFER POSITIVE
BLUE = RIGHT FRONT WOOFER NEGATIVE

BLACK = LEFT REAR POSITIVE
YELLOW = LEFT REAR NEGATIVE

RED = RIGHT REAR POSITIVE
WHITE = RIGHT REAR NEGATIVE
