amp install problem-help guys, this is weird

installed amp (which is mounted to the chassis/body) - then connected 12v, remote line & ground - turned on ignition and it powered up fine so I connected the rca's to the amp and line output converter(connected to rear speakers) and the speakers "popped" once and the amp lost power... Turns out that the fuse on the 12v line to the battery was blown, bought a new LOC and repeated the process and got the same result... What the heck?? I've contemplated that the chassis mounting of the amp could be the problem but haven't unbolted it to try again yet.

When you ran the power cord, did you perhaps tear it?

Try taking the amp off the chassis and setting it somewhere and seeing if it works.

Is there a cross or tear in the RCA line?

no tears in the rca line - I've tried 2 different ones and the touch no part of the body... this is making me crazy and I'm going to unmount the amp to see if that's it. Thanks for the help/ideas "U"

No problemo. What brand is the amp?

Edit: Have you tried conencting the ground wire to the amp before the power wire? When you connect the power wire there should be a spark. It shouldn't blow fuses though...DO you have any friends with car audio? You could maybe just test your amp on their system to make sure it works.
