Speakers

ok guys for those audiphiles or just people who know speakers well i have a question. I've been looking at speakers lately and im not sure on which to buy. Ive come down to the polk mmc6500, the MB Quart Reference RCE216, Kenwood eXcelon KFC-Xr61P, Infinity Kappa 60.5cs, and JBL P550c. I know i missed some but which one would you choose and if there are any better ones for that price what are they?

how much are you willing to spend?
I had the MB Quartreference speakers and to me, they sounded a little hollow. I have an eq, so i could set the sound as I wanted, but overall theyre not very good. If you want to get MB Quart, you sould save up for the premium series. The best speakers that you can get for 250 would be focal polygalss v2 or diamond audio m661. From what you listed, I like the polk components the best.

what is your budget? Go with the focals, or if you want to invest go with DLS or Rainbow.

does anybody know if image dynamics make good components? the chameleon components? Are they better than the Focal Polykevlar components or the MB Quart PCE?

Focals are too deep. ID chameleons are good but according to their site their woofers are .05" too deep, but that wouldn't be much of a problem to fix. MB quarts are too bright. Polk/MOMOs I personally like a lot. Infinitys are a little bright and lack midbass.

ID have excellent midbass, but the tweeter is quite large, they are a good set for the money, you can also look at RE, Adire, Morel, Dynaudio.
