No real boom factor

Ok I've got a Kruzin audio plexiglass bandpass box with 2 10" 600watt max 4ohm Qpower woofers. The amp is a 1200 watt max La960 which is stereo stable at 2 ohms. I would think you would be able to hear me coming down the street, but no, no one hears me coming down the street if they're in the house. I don't shake cars or set off alarms. As a matter of fact my old sealed box with two 10" 200 watts speakers with a 400 watt amp hit just as hard as these. Any quick fixes, or do I just need 12's to get that bigger "boom"? Should I parallel both 4 ohm woofers to get 2 ohms and more power?

Cool

Sounds like all show to me.

You don't need to upgrade that thing for more sound. You need to buy better equipment from the start. Ditch the entire setup on ebay, and start with quality equipment.

I must know a dozen people I went to high school/college with that got the "ebay special" 2 12" subs in a bandpass box. My pair of little 10" Kicker L7's on a 1200.1 JBL amp and tiny custom sealed boxes blow the hell out of the craptastic stuff ready-made on ebay @ in places like BestBuy/Crutchfield ect...

90% of having good sound is a good isntallation/enclosure, but there is an old saying. "Shit in, Shit out."

Cool

For under 500?
Cross out any really hard hitting 12's.

Not to hard-core over pimp mine, but just grab a pair of Kicker 10" L7 solo-barics off ebay NIB for $120 a piece

$270 - shipped
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38647

They work great ported, but they sound great, play hard sealed, and are loud enough for me. They are very loud in very small boxes. Easy to fit them in the small part of the truck, and actually still retain use of more than 50% of your trunk space.
I got my JBL 1200.1 last year for $150 NIB, you should be able to find the same. (It has no filter... So that's more $$$ to spend if you're not going to do a sealed box)

That leaves you pleanty to build your own custom boxes, or just chepa out and buy some.
$15 for a pair of Kicker covers... (if not included)

Cool

Don't fear the break-in on L7's either. It comes fast.

Bandpass? In a trunk?

Do your research before you buy audio equipment.

/\/\/\ x2 if you want volume over sq, you could also look at some kicker compvr 12's they are real cheap and nothing to thumb one's nose at

Cool

10" Solo-baric L5's are louder than 12" compVR's.
People say solo-baric's sound horrible.
Then again 99% of people can't install a subwoofer. I'm an audiophille, they sound great to me in sealed boxes. You just have to have a halfway descent box.
