Performance wise, Alpine hands down. The downside is that Alpine does not have fancy looks. Almost all the decks look similar to each other. With Pioneer you can have moer fancy looking ones but i would still go with Alpine for its top notch performance.

Alpine 9835 or Pioneer Premier 870 both top notch HU, you cant go wrong with either one.

ive got the Pioneer Premier DEH-P860MP , they dont have an Premier 870 or Pioneer 8700 to my knowledge, anyway i love my Pioneer, but IVE HEARD Alpine is good too,

Alpine definitely - like said before, the alpine radios arent much to look at, but they are much more functional, powerful, have a lot more features, and sound alot better. i've had both, and thats coming from my personal experience.

Alpine/Pioneer are about the same. Dollar for Dollar you can't go wrong with either. They're different, but equal. I personally went with the 860MP last year and passed up the Alpine line because I felt their units in the similar price range were lacking.

alpines are more expensive, but even the cheapest alpines have more features and imho sound better than the most expensive pioneer
