Security for a '95 Camry

My first post, probably won't be my last.

My girlfriend has a 95 Camry (I'll have a 97 Camry in February) but right now it doesn't come with a car alarm and/or keyless entry. It does have working power locks.

I work at a distributor that distributes Audiovox Prestige Security Systems to local retailers and/or etailers.

I am planning to get her the APS596 (maybe the APS996A, which includes a remote start) or the APS510A, I like the APS596/APS996A as it a pager alarm and includes the LCD screen.

What I am trying to get too...

On average, what is the cost for installation for a car alarm. I know for a fact that I can't handle it, and no one at my work seems to know. I get estimates from $50 to $250 for a car alarm installation.

Her car has power everything and I would like to install all available options that is available with the car alarm such as trunk release. IF I am planning to get the APS996A instead of APS596, how much would installation be for the remote start system.

Thanks!

Yvo

Should be about $100(labor) for installation of just an alarm with keyless entry. About $160 (labor) for alarm with remote start and keyless entry.

Trunk release would need an actuator to pull on the cable to pop the trunk, so to have that added it would be over $100 in parts and labor.

Do yourself a favor and make sure whatever shop you go to doesn't do hack jobs. Anyone can use T-taps and install quickly but if they use them, it will probably stop working a few years down the road. A pretty safe bet is Circuit City who should be willing to install Audiovox alarms since they used to carry them. I work at one so I know all the policies. They guarantee their work for as long as you own the car so they have to fix any problems that may arise.
