it seems like the harness cost 30 bucks at sounddomain!?! and the frame for the unit cost about 13.

If you don't wanna pay alot, go to Wal-Mart. They sell the same harness and dash kits as the big retailer stores, at a fraction of the price. What year/model is your car?
The harness should cost you about $9, and I think for an '03, you use the factory isomount brackets.

Im sorry, using "installer" talk.
One of the car installers I know use that term because on some manuf.'s, like toyota, don't require a dash kit, but instead use the existing factory brackets. I have a Double Din HU in my '97, which was bolted to 2 brackets that held the factory radio in. I'll call my buddies and find out if your year car needs a dash kit or not.
