Brand New RFX9020M Skipping From Bass

I got a RFX9020M Rockford Fosgate head deck about 1 month ago and I have noticed that whenever I turn the bass up fairly loud it will skip. This this is basically brand new and apparently a decent headunit.

I talked to the guys who I bought it off *cough* *cough* Autobarn....and they told me to turn the bass down....now can anyone else see why I would laugh at him. I have my system set up for heavy bass, love my bass to pieces...so it kinda defeats the purpose of it when i turn the bass down lol

any advice from anyone would be greatly appreciated

I am trying to avoid buying a new headunit as something decent would just be more money spent.

you could try making a floating platform for it

I think this was discussed before a long while back too....do a search and see if there were any conclusions to that discussion

Had a search and I couldn't find anything at all. You have a basic idea of the floating platform? Cause I have basically tested the system while its in my hand (floating) and its fine

Have them exchange it for a new one, tell em its defective, if the other does the same thing, look for a different HU, but most of the higher end models already have built in anti skipping mechanism in em.
