Fitting A Cd Player To My 1995 Previa

Can someone tell me if I can fit a Sony Radio/CD player above existing Toyota radio cassette? There is a metal protrusion between heater controls and radio cassette, what is hiding on other side of this?
Or do I need to remove radio cassette and instal CD player in this space? If so how do I remove radio casstte?

You have to remove the OEM cassette/radio since there's only one harness. Lift up the flap that covers part of the dash and radio and you should see two Philips screws, remove those. Remove the ashtray/cup holder underneath, and look up and you should see two Philips screws also, remove those. The radio/pocket brackets can then be removed, use an 8mm socket if necessary. Make sure you get a harness adapter to mate with the Sony plug, so you don't cut/splice any wires.
