Question Question about JBL stereo upgrade - Please Help!

Hello everyone. I am going to buy a Tacoma TRD at the end of the year...and I was wondering about the available JBL stereo upgrade. Do any of y'all know if the Changer/speakers/sub/amp they put in there are worthwhile at all? I was thinking about getting the JBL upgrade, and then just buying a pair of 10s and an amp to compliment it. Would that be a bad idea, and are those speakers just glorified factory junk? Does anyone have the JBL upgrade? I want a good system in my truck, and I'll shell out the money for aftermarket gear/custom installs if I have to, but I thought I'd ask some opinions first.

Thanks for your help.

it depends....ask them what the actual specs are on their speakers

jbl isn't the best company in the world, but their competition level products are still impressive

I have jbl amps and subs. The jbl mono crown series amps are really good. The power series 2ch. or 4ch. are pretty decent. I have recently bought there 10in subs which pound. Everyone who has heard them swear they are 12in. I have 3 of power series 10in but only 2 installed so far. Jbl has impressed me so far. If you have heard the infinity perfects series that jbl's middle line.

I believe he's referring to the OEM JBL upgrade, not aftermarket JBL.

los, I wouldn't spend extra to get OEM upgrades, totally not worth it.

I agree, although the JBL system is average at best, upgrading to an aftermarket system would be best.

If you don't mind spending some money for aftermarket you can get way better than factory JBL junk
