Toyota Radio

Hi Guys,

First post. Not sure this is the right sub-forum.

Anyways, I have an 89 Land Cr. with a bad radio. Father has the truck right now and decided to put a new radio in it before I come to get it in a few weeks - I've been storing it. He is fine with installing and all (I hope). The trick is, he got the thing on ebay.its model CD-1631TL1B made in May 91. Now I have the serial number and I have the security code - but no idea how to put it in. The code has numbers in it and commas like 188,84,7, and the last digit appears to be a 7 with a lightening bolt through it (so he says). Assuming he installs it right, any ideas how to input the code? The number buttons only go to 6. I might be able to figure it out on my own once I see it - but like all fathers, he wants to do it himself. Also, do I need to somehow reset it? It sounds like the code he has might be factory - not sure.

Thanx in advance

Manta

IIRC, if you press each button repetitively, it should increment with each press and will roll over once the highest (assuming 9) is reached.

Yeah - I guess I need him to send me a pic of the face of it so I can get a better idea.

Then I could make some guesses as to which buttons exatly. The 7 with the lightening bolt has me stumped.
