ok i have an all alpine stereo i want to put in the avalon. my q's are as follows does anyone make a headunit mounting kit for a 95 xls avalon? i was told the gas tank is behind the back seat...will that inhibit the sound from the subs? if so what can i do to rectify the problem?
Search [hardwiring avalon] and you will see some recent threads about installing a cd player into your ride. You will have to bypass the factory amp. Don't worry about the gas tank it's under the car.
thanx... i appreciate the help. my only question is, i dont need an actual headunit mounting kit just one of those cubby hole things and it will be ok?

Yeah you don't need a mounting kit, the alpine cd player will work with the factory mounting brackets. You can also go to the dealer and get the nicer pocket with the door, it will look better than that pocket that I showed you in the link.
Yep, if they don't have it listed for an avalon then ask for it for a camry. They should know exactly what you're talking about. Or worse comes to worse print out that picture and show them.
go to a toyota dealer and ask them for the factory sound sytem wiring diagram. Make sure you give them all the correct information. Usually they will just ask what you plan on doing, and most of the time can give you some good help/suggestions. If you are planning on installing new speakers, I would replace the factory wiring as well.
