So a search through Toyota Nation, eBay and Google couldn't help me out too much, so I turn to you guys for a little advice and input.
I have a '98 Camry LE and would like to install a temperature gauge that shows the inside and outside air temperatures... at least outside. I was thinking it might be neat to find a digital display and put it on the A-pillar (with a battery gauge to go with it), but right now it's more of a hunt to just find a small thermometer that would work. I haven't checked out Radio Shack to see what they have, but I think most thermometers they sell would be too big for an automotive installation.
Have any of you guys/gals heard of such a thing? Have you installed one and figured out where to put the thermal sensor? Any help or input is appreciated!!

Wow! Thanks guys! I especially appreciate the pic, cam2Xrunner! I was secretly hoping for something to mount on the A-Pillar, but this will definitely get the job done!

You could just snip off the cig. lighter connection and just wire to a 12v source. When I had mine I put the sensor in the door jamb area, but I think there are better places to mount it.
I just checked the manual on Radio Shack's website, and it looks like this thing requires 2 AAA batteries to run. I'm not sure if it can get power from the cig adapter, but the manual seems to indicate that the cig adapter is only used for sensing the main battery voltage and not for powering the unit itself.
Anyone have experience with this thing to contradict my thoughts? I may end up buying this thing anyway, but I'll probably leave out the battery sensor if it doesn't provide power.
As for mounting the external sensor, I was thinking about running it through the door and into the side-view mirror. This would shield it from wind and insulate it from the passenger compartment. Any other ideas for mounting?
