wiring subs to speakers

I have my two 10" subs wired from the two rear speakers(one speaker to one sub). I was wondering if this setup is alright? I know i need an amp i'm still working on getting the money. Also if i bought a new deck ,that has 50x4 power, would that power affect my subs enought to tell a difference??

Thanks for any feedback,
marc

well the speakers are now wired in parallel with the sub which brings the ohm rating down by 1/2. so assuming they are both 4 ohm, they are now both 2 ohm and that is an incorrect setup. you could probably tell a difference with a new HU, will be louder and clearer, but it still wont be enough to power a sub, esp 2. i would disconnect the subs, get the HU first, then get an amp to hookup the subs.

You're running the subs off of the headunit? Or do you have an amp and you're using the rear speaker wires for the signal input to the amp?

Please don't tell me your running them off the headunit.

almost seems as though someone has no idea what there doing if u ask me... headunit running everything wow.. that would be the most hilarious setup alive, also sounding next to the crappiest ever, not to mention i have no idea how the headunit wouldnt overload itself and blow up in the process.. (not even trying to be mean) but.. yikes not a smart move.. AMP REQUIRED

P.S. that is wrong in so many ways....

I have the rear speakers still hooked up and i wired the subs to the speaker(saudered (sp??) the wires from the subs right on to the speakers).
Yes i know this setup is probably the worst setup on the planet but i didnt know anything about subs and got them for free so i figured i would try it.

Ok you're gonna want to disconect that right away. You're will end up blowing the subwoofer if you havent already and you're gonna fry the cd player.

Some of the older pioneer decks alowed you to bridge the rear channels off the headunit to play a small sub. This is the only time you can play a sub off the headunit.

You are going to want to get an amp to power those subs

For the love of God, please do some RESEARCH before installing any audio equipment.
