USA 2005 Toyota Camry XLE CD/ tape player

I am thinking about updating my LE model with a CD/ Tape player coming from the XLE

model. Can the 2005 Toyota Camry XLE CD/ tape player be adapted to the LE 4 cylinder model.

The wiring In the Camry LE is different from the XLE Model and won't fit the plugs of the XLE

Player. The dealer is even suggesting a new harness ($1500). A friend of mine is suggesting getting an amp but which one. I would appreciate any input.

I can show you some links that will build you a killer sound system for 1500 dollars. Don't waste your money on factory stuff, the JBL system isn't even that much better than the stock CD player.

I have already bought the Unit that comes on the XLE and I want to use it on my Le Model. Where I live, They won't break into a car to steal a factory sytem. That is my main concern

You would need either the factrory amp or an aftermarket amp. that CD player doesn't have an internal amp.

Sounds like a pain in the ass.

Look into the JL Clean Sweep

http://www.jlaudio.com/press/CleanSweep05.html

That might work well in this situation to go between the CD player and the amp. This is the route I would go and get some good aftermarket amps.

Did the CD player have any wiring that came with it?

You might as well ebay that XLE unit, since you will need the OEM amp, and ALL of the wiring harnesses between the preamp deck and OEM amp. Should've done your homework first before an impulsive purchase.

That will work good even for the reg headunit that you have.

Another way you can go if you want to keep it with a factory look is by using the factory cd player as the "decoy" Leave that one there, an in that space under the AC controls on your camry, You might have space to mount a Din Sized headunit, maybe even double din monitor headunit(if you want to go that far).

Same idea as this.

you should not have to pay 1500 dollars to get it to work,

they will rob you at the dealership if you let them (edited)

Even if you get the CleanSweep, you still need matching harness that goes to back of the XLE unit. How else would you feed the signals to CS? It's easy to buy all the equipment, but it's useless when you don't have all the wiring.

If you want to post pictures, you have upload them to a hosting service, then link the pictures with format.

If you Have a Ipod or any Mp3 player, you can listen to it in your car through a tape adapter. The tape adapter gives a better sound and clarity and the wireless tuner.

I'd like to point out that JBL has nothing to do with CleanSweep. It's a product offering from JL Audio.
