93' camry amp install

I recently purchased 400 watt amp to power my 2 10" fosgates. I also still have my factory deck. Would it be easier (but more expesive) to just buy a new deck rather than wire all my speaker wires to a power converter or the RCA cables? If i bought a cheap one from wal-mart (around $50) would this do for what i need to hook up my amp?
Thanks for any feedback,
marc

It would be eaier and cheaper to install a line ouput convertor than to install a cd player.
This would work for you.

If you can spend a 100 or so you can get a decent entry level pioneer cd player. Ebay is pretty cheap.

so this device just plugs right in to the old factory deck? and after plugging it in the RCA cables just plug in to that. I already purchased a speaker level converter. It requires me to cut all the speaker cables and reroute them to the converter then it has rca outputs.

That is a speaker level convertor, you tap into the speaker wire.
Which one did you get? Got a link?

Since you are using it for the subs just tap into ONE of the rear speaker wires, you don't need to do all 4.

Nevermind. I meant link as in a link to a web page. Good luck with the install.

Basic Amp Install Instructions

That might help you with ?'s on installing the amp.

can i use wire coming from the 2 rear speakers and connect that to the converter? Also where could i find a 12v in the back seat/ trunk area? I want to try and wire the amp without taking hte deck out if possible.

Yes you can use the wiring from the rear speakers, it's not important to use both rear speakers, you can use one if you want. Just make sure that if you sometimes fade your music to the left at all you will want to use the left side speaker wire. You don't need to take the deck out to power the amp for the subwoofer. You will however need at least 8 gauge power and ground wiring. For the power wire make sure you have an inline fuse shorter than 18" from the battery. A 70-80 amp fuse should be fine.

For the ground make sure you scrape away the paint to get to the bare metal wherever you ground it.

^just skip the step where you run the rca's from the headunit. In your case you run the rca from the LOC to the amp.

Tap into the rear speaker leads off of the rear deck. Not too tough, and if you need power antenna lead, you can run that off of the actual power antenna as well...prety basic.

For the remote wire you can wire it to the ciggarette lighter as well. I don't know about the power antenna, wouldn't that only get power when opening and closing?

How would i go about connecting the remote wiring to the power antenna? If i connected the wiring i have to the antenna would'nt it take the power away from the antenna? or can i just cut splice into the antenna wiring and use half the wire for the remote wire and just keep the other half connected?
thanks,
marc

well i decided to just go ahead with splicing the antenna wiring. NOT A GOOD IDEA!! Before hooking the remote wire to the amp i turned on the radio and i hear a crackling sound when i turn up the volume a little. I also noticed the right rear speaker not working but when i use the balance nob to the right side of the car then the speaker works. I dont know how splicing into the antenna wiring could do this. I have no idea what i did but its not good!
please help,
marc

Use the ciggarette lighter as the source. It's easy enough to get to.
