USA 97 Avalon aftermarket stereo

hi, all, i had a jvc aftermarket CD player installed in my avalon and the wires had to be spliced because of the external amp. After i had the player installed, it kept blowing fuses left and right i assume because the external toyota amp was still on. Is there anyway to remove the toyota amp entirely and just rewire everything straight from the new receiver to the speakers? I also want to replace the speakers as well with components, since my car is already equipped with the premium sound with 6 speakers, i have room to mount the tweeters in the factory location i think. I just wanted to get some info from you guys who may have gone through all this before. Right now i have the factory receiver the AD-1700 and the factory 3CD changer. ANY INFO IS GREATLY APPRECIATED, THANKS IN ADVANCE

-BRIAN

I would take out the factory amp and just use all new wiring for power, gound, speaker wire, etc.

I heard the door speakers are 4" midrange and a seperate tweeter. Not too many option for that size but it makes for the pefect situation if you want to go with a 3 way component set. What's the most you want to spend on components, and do you have an amp to power them? If not what is your budget for the amp as well?

That's what I like to hear.

Well the stuff I'm going to recomend is pretty expensive but is of the highest quality. I could name off some other incredibly expensive stuff but it won't sound much better than this.

Since your avalon has a spot for a 4" midrange, I would recomend utilizing that and going with a 3 way component speaker system. You will have to have kickpods made to house the 6.5": midbass.
Check out the DLS Iridium 6.3

You're going to want to send these components at least 150 watts RMS to each side.
The DLS A3 is an excelent Sound Quality 2 Channel amp.

The Zapco 750.2 is an awesome amp. A little more pricey though.

For the rears just take out the speakers. Run no speakers, unlesss you want to do a surround sound system for a DVD player/screen, then get some decent coaxials.

For the Sub check out the Image Dynamics IDMAX 12"
http://www.imagedynamicsusa.com/webs...cts/IDMAX.html

Match it with the DLS A6 amp.

You're also going to want to sound dampen the car if going with this setup.

Anybody else have any ideas? I was thinking a kenwood excelon receiver with MB Quart speakers, although I am not sure what amp as of yet.

MB Quarts are known for having pretty harsh tweets, if you do go with them, make sure they are silk dome tweeters.

It would be easier for people to make recomendations if you put a budget on everything, like each piece individually.

Check out www.carreview.com for owner reviews on equipment.
