Boston's aren't bad subs. Depending on the model of them 180 sounds like a good deal.

^ what he said....also depends on the model, but generally they're good stuff...

I used to have two boston acoustic proseries 12.5LFs....
then I blew them both plus my amp in a freak accident...

they were 1200wrms each
but more importantly, they were about sq, not spl

It would appear that they are Boston Rally 10's, i got some info
Normal size: 10"
Peak Input Power: 350 watts
Continuous Power: 175 watts
Sensitivity: 1 watt/.5 meter 94dB
Nominal Impedance: 4 or 8 ohms
Mounting Cutout Diameter: 9.25"
Mounting Depth: 4.625"
from http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/4/6067.html
hes also got a legacy la190
http://www.sjgreatdeals.com/la190.html
that he wants 50-75 for, which is way to high and doesnt seem like it can drive subs well enough
im a little more concerened with powa, because i was looking at my headlights today and when the car is idling they are dimming, im hoping by upgrading the big 3 that wont be a problems
thoughts on any of this?

I'd offer him 125-140 for the subs and box. That amp is weak, don't buy that. Do you know what ohm those subs are? 4 ohm, dual 4 ohm, dual 2ohm. etc.?

How much are you willing to spend on a decent amp?

Don't really know anything good for around 100. You can get a Hifonics Brutus BX500d for about 160 inc. shipping on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WD1V

If they're dual 4 ohm subs, which I think they are you can wire it to get a 1 ohm load on that amp and that'll send then about 250 watts each.

Personally if it was me I'd save up and get two Image Dynamics IDQ 12's and as sealed box. About 300 bucks. But will sound way better.

300 buxs, yikes thats doubling the cost, i cant really affoard to do that, the subs are really a if i can affoard em ill get em, spending 200 was my limit on the subs themselves, should i try and haggle a little or just look for others, that amp looks pretty good im assuming youre reccomending it on some basis, any point in looking at local stores etc, what do i need to look for in an amp for these bad boys?
thanks

edit* when you were talking about running them at 1 ohm what were you talking about

Like eye8pussies said Boston’s are known for Sound Quality. I have the ProSeries 12 in my Integra and has awesome sound quality which is what I was looking for not how loud it can get. I’m not sure how the Rally’s sound but I would assume has decent sound quality and probably won’t be as loud as others, so get it if you want sound quality. I wanted to put a Boston Sub in my Toyota Truck but it’s a regular cab and can’t even fit an 8 inch so I had to go with a Bazooka 6.5in 200 watt instead. You might be able to solve the dimming of lights with a capacitor, I have one in Integra to make sure the lights don’t dim running the 5channel JL amp and I have never had a problem with dimming.
