Lightbulb think'n bout subs

Hey,

I'm Thinking about installing a sub woofer in the trunk of my gen 3 camry.

I want to do this to get a bit more bass out of my system (gotta love more bass), but want to do it on the cheap.

What are some recomendations for some affordable woofers - brands and numbers? I'm not an expert when it comes to car audio, so don't really care if it's not an exotic brand. Just want somthing to do the job. Should I be looking at 10" or 12"?

Will I need an amp to power the sub, or can I run it off the HU? I have front and rear (aftermarket) speakers running from the HU already. If so, should I be looking at 2ch or 4ch?

thanks.

murf.

You would need an amp for the sub. What's you budget?

if your just goingt o drive your subs you could get a 2 ch. that may save a little coin
but like cam2Xrunner said we need a budget to work with
otherwise there is no limit to cheap

You could go with 1 DVC Elicpse 12 in a sealed box
and like a 500W 2 ch amp bridged for it

thats what I have "temp" right now and it hit pretty hard
I listen to Rock/Country/Jazz and it sounds really good
