iPod to 2004 Sienna w/out CD Changer

I am planning to wire my iPod to the AUX CD-changer input on the back of my factory JBL head unit (with single CD).

I am planning on using the following: PAC Aux2Car, with the appropriate adapter.

My questions are:

1. Has anybody done this successfully?
2. Are there instructions available for taking apart the dash?
3. Does this disable the in-dash single CD-player?
4. Since there is no button for CD-changer or AUX, how will I access the AUX input?

I saw a hint somewhere that pressing the DISC button will do it, and I am hoping that it will cycle between the in-dash and the AUX... Anyone?

Thanks.

dblhaims,
The aux2car is now ipod2car wich list toyota as compatible. I've also seen the PA10-TOY which offer some playlist features and also charges the ipod.
Good luck.

Those AUX adapter will "trick" the headunit to think it's a changer, since it's connected the changer port. So if you press DISC again, it will switch to it, and no, you will not lose your in-dash CD player. I never got around to taking the headunit out of a new Sienna, as the drop-down video system bezel I was planning to install was too narrow for the roofliner cut-out.

Thanks! That answers my biggest question.

I did this successfully in my Honda Civic, so I imagine I'll get it working in the Sienna.

dblhaims could you let me know what you ended up doing? I've just bought a pa10-toy to connect my ipod to my 2002 corolla oem headunit but for some reason the headunit does not seem to think a "cd changer" has been fitted after plugging in the pa10-toy any ideas?

Check out all the requirements for using the PA10-TOY here, which is specified for USA. Perhaps something is different for the UK.

Yeah I checked out the spec before purchase and on paper uk and us models seem to be same. I did wonder if when fitting a ipod interface or a cd changer that there's another step before the head unit recognises it?

I know that with the Aux2Car, you must set the dip switches correctly before connecting the unit. Could that be it?

I haven't done my install yet - I just got all of the parts.

When I did this in my Honda Civic, it just worked right away.

Thanks dblhaims, the PA10-TOY does have 2 dip switches but i've tried them in all positions but to no avail. I'm now left wondering if (i) This particular device is not comptable with my toyota head unit?
(ii) If the ipod interface is damaged?
(iii) If my head unit is defective or was crippled deliberatly by toyota as i didn't purchase the cd changer when i bought the car?

The CD changer port doesn't need to be turned on from within the radio, once something is connected to it, it will automatically switch to it when pressing the CD button. From reading the description of the PA10-TOY, it seems to me that it needs to have steering wheel controls, since it completely disables the controls on the iPod itself. Does your Corolla have steering wheel controls?
