97 Avalon stock sub

What size is the stock sub on a 97 avalon? I'm trying to install one, i see there is a cut out on the rear deck for one, but I only got the factory 6 speaker stereo, not the 7 so there is no subwoofer there, just a space for one.
thanks,
brian

I believe it is an 8" sub. Look into a kicker 8" freeair sub.

I checked the opening last night with a tape measure, and it was 6.5 inches in diameter....I have never seen a sub THAT small before, maybe I wont be able to get an aftermarket sub in there after all since i think the smallest ones are 8 inches.

JL used to make a 6W0 series, I believe. I'm not sure how efficient that sub will be. Bazooka may have 6.5" also.
