I was wondering if i installed a alpine head unit or pioneer hu into my camry will i hear a noticable difference in sq? My car already comes with a stock amp so running the stock speakers off the hu doesnt seem like such a great idea. Do you guys think it will still sound better or about the same at best?
Yeah it will probably sound better because you have more control over the frequencies, plus the onboard amp probably puts out the same amount if not more than the factory amp.
I know someone that has the same exact car as I and he had said that when he changed the stock speakers and left the stock HU they aftermarket speakers bumped more then the stock system and everyone who owns a g5 knows that the stock system bumps.. I notice my liscense plate frame rattles as well as the trunk. But he said that's the best 200 bux he spent on speakers and it's well worth it...So anyway I dont know why you don't change the speakers and leave the stock unit if you like it; thats if you have a G5 Camry

yeah i got a g5 but i want a head unit for mp3 capabilities... as well as all the other nifty adjustments... i also wanted a head unit so i could hook up my sub and amp i have at home....
O, and iam looking for SQL not just making my system Loud. The camry system sounds decent for stock i have to admit it but i want MORE!
If you're looking for good sound quality and loudness, then there is no other whay than to upgrade to a new reciever and get an amp to power components in the front doors. What's your budget that you're working with?
