The lower line, but I would think there is better for the money. What's your budget for a good set of components?

this summer i'm looking into spend aornd maximum of 800 CDN if possible, for:
HU, component up front (tweeter and 6.5"), an amp, and some decent rear 6x9"... but if i remmeber correctly, its better to focus on the sound at front.

and notice, i don't need a sub as i do still need a large trunk space for myself and kid's gears...

and i'm still deciding about the installation part, whether i should TRY to do it myself or have someone to do it for me. as i lack car-audio knowledge.

Definitely do it yourself, you will save a bunch of money(especially if sound proofing), and you just might do a better installation job then someone else.

With 650 bucks

http://edesignaudio.com/product.php?...pid=29&cur=USD

You can probably get the edi6500S with the nine.2 amp for around 400 USD
Email them to get pricing on a package deal.

IMO don't use rearfill, but if you must, replace them with some Pioneer Rev series 6X9's and run them off the headunit.

How did you remove the headliner?

I sent you a note, but thought it might be good to post here as well so that everyone could benefit from it.

Just wondering how to remove the headliner. I just bought JVC 9" wide flipdown monitor and would like to hear from someone who has done this on an 05' Tacoma .

Thanks!

Hey Tony, in order to remove the headliner you need to first remove all the plastic moulding that is on the sides. You are going to need a torx screwdriver to remove the screws. Once you ahve the mpulding off, you will need to pull off those coat hanger things near the rear window. IIRC you need to twist them 90 degrees then pull them off.
I don't remember if the consol towards the front windshield has screws holding it in, I think it might. If so remove those. The light in the middle should just pop off, I don't think there are any screws holding that on.

Hope this helps, let me know how it turns out.
Robert

PS. Welcome to Toyotanation and Congratulations on the new Truck. My Dad just bought a Silver doublecab too.

I want Boston Acoustics in my car. But I'll be in debt by the time I get out of college. OH wait, nevermind, I got my company to deal with that. MUAHAHA! Embezzlement!

j/k, like I'll really embezzle my own company.

He sells the 6x9 speaker adapters for the tacoma for 45 bucks.

A 6.5" adapter will be a bit cheaper. Email him for a quote on a box.
