finished the fiberglass sub box.... yey

Now that i have built my box and mounted the amp onto it, io am rather impressed with how it turned out. However, the subs dont feel like they are pushing hard enough. I searched for a DIY thread on how to bridge the two channel amp and it lead to nothing but confusion. I called a friend at pepboys and he said sub amps shouldnt have two channels...i dont htink thats right..... not at all.. so im totally lossed on how to bridge the amp and get the most kik from subs.... any help will be greatly appreciated. I will have pics posted, hopefully, tomorow... Thanks in advance for any people willing to help a sound newb...

What amp do you have and many channels does it have?

What subs do you have, how many do you have, and are they SVC or DVC?

Sub amps (aka. mono blocks) are usually mono (1 channel). But that doesn't mean that you can't use a 2 channel or more amp for subs.

whoops, left out some details... the amp is two channels. 500 watts.

The subs are two 12's and max out at 1000 watts, i believe... but i think are stable at around 500.

There are multi-channel amps, stereo amps and mono amps. You can bridge a stereo amp but I dunno bout a multi channel-amp... ???

You sure he's not talking about stereo amps?

You might just have a weaksauce amp, not up to the task. 2x1000w-max subs running off of a 500w-max amp? Nowhere near the punch you could have. *Reiterate the MODEL NUMBERS PLEASE idea*
*edit* ah, bluemeanie, you're just down the street. I'm 20 miles east of the river on 64
