Galaxy 5000RS-2W Car Alarm Installation Trouble

Hi guys,

I'm installing a remote start keyless entry alarm system in my 2000 Camry LE and ran into a bit of trouble. I got the remote start and most of the features to work great, but I'm having trouble getting the remote entry to work. This 2000 Camry has a factory remote entry module in it already. I figure if tap the wires between the power locks and factory module, it should work fine. It didnt work.

Am I suppose to add relays for the output lock and unlock wires from my alarm to my car wiring system??? Or do I have to change my wiring because of the factory keyless entry module??? I need help. Spent like 2 days on it already trying to figure a single feature out . If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

Here's the wiring diagram for the 2000 Camry and my alarm system wiring diagram

What did you connect the blue/orange (remote start output) wire to?
What did you connect the violet/white (factory alarm disarm output) wire to?

You shouldn't have to add extra relays to the output since 500mA should be enough to trigger the relays in the car.

blue/orange (remote start output) wire went to secondary ignition.

violet/white (factory alarm disarm output) wire hasn't been connected yet, not using this wire.

I only have a operational factory remote entry module. It's not an alarm system. So I dont think I have to use the violet/white wire. Do I?

My lock and unlock output wire is not working correctly. I know I have the car wire correctly marked. It only tests with the passenger door lock cylinder with the key. It goes to ground when I turn the key. So it's the right one.

I dont know what's the problem.

Your car has a transponder built-in near the ignition, and you will need a immobilizer bypass. The Galaxy alarm/RS system can't do it alone for remote start, IIRC. The remote start output should NOT go to secondary ignition, should go to an immobilizer bypass. You need to tie factory alarm disarm output to the keysense wire. All Toyotas use negative trigger for door lock and unlock, so the blue and green wires should connect correctly.

Is your remote start working?

The remote start works fine.

I just checked my wiring and I dont have my remote start output connected to any wire. My mistake, sorry.

I think my lock and unlock output wires on my alarm is defective. It's not outputing ground on disarm. Is there to way to test the lock and unlock ouput wires on the alarm for sure???

It's possible that there isn't enough current from the output of the alarm to drive the relays inside the car. So you can try adding relays to both the lock and unlock wires and see if that would work. You can try using a voltmeter and check the output of those wires when you press on the remote. When rested, it should read 12V, when triggered, it should be 0V. Hopefully, you may be able to read it quickly since the pulse doesn't last too long.

dont 12v input 3 must be powered to get the unit up? didnt see you check it off there.

thats the only way for now to check the lock/unlock wire on that unit. i hope you use a DMM to test.

btw, the siren wire... why did you crossed that out and putted (+)?
