Anybody ever get thrown in a pool during their fraternity days? Let me tell you- it's a great way to kill your keyless entry transmitter. That happpened to me a few years back and is why I wanted to buy a backup transmitter the day I took delivery of my '03 Corolla LE with factory security system. Anybody had a Toyota Stealer quote you on getting this done? I think I was told around $100+ for the part PLUS $75+ to have the Service Department program it. I don't think so

.
So, I wanted to let you guys know about a great experience

I had with an Ebay vendor called "My Keyless." I paid around $14
delivered for a genuine TMC part that is identical to the one I already had. Battery included! They shipped promptly and included programming instructions. I programmed it myself
the first time in about 4 minutes. I saved $160, or
92% on this job!

Is it just me or does that make you even more infuriated

that dealers take advantage of (what for many people is) a desperate situation and charge more than an
hour of shop time for
4 minutes of "work." This should be a "courtesy" if you buy the transmitter from them. The goodwill created might even make people consider bringing their cars back to your stealership when it's time for real service. Otherwise, where's the synergy of having parts and service all under one roof? But I don't have time to give those phukheads

a marketing lesson...like they would even listen!
Anyway, if you need one, you could probably just email him to see if he'll be willing to bypass the whole auction process, although he may not go for it:
