2005 Corolla S - Stock HU

Need to take out the stock HU to plug in the Neo Ion for the Ipod.

Now is the removal of the cd player any different that that of the 2003 and older Corollas?

Anyone have good instructions for getting the HU out OR maybe its possible to just plug it in by reaching around?

Thanks for all the help!

Brandon

Pull out your ashtray and cigarrette lighter, and then try to pop the console out. it should pop in and out of place with relative ease, just be patient. Be firm, but with a gentle touch

pukajoe, you left out a few steps.

Remove the center climate control knob by just pulling it out. There will be a screw there. From the back of the plastic trim around the gear lever, pull upwards until you can take it off (it's the piece the 12V is connected to). There will be another two screws on the bottom. Take the two screws out and then tug firmly on the whole plastic piece of the console. Manuever it around and it should pop right out. Then there will be total 4 bolts you have to remove to take off the stock headunit. I forget, but they are either all on the bottom or two on the bottom and two on the top. Pull the headunit out, do what ya gotta do and reverse the process.
