how did you install the headunit? did you splice the wires, or use wiring harnesses? Usually when the headunit doesnt turn off it's because the accessory, or switched, power wire on the radio is hooked up to a constant power wire on the car. So if you hardwired it, you may have gotten the wrong wire. The power antenna not going up could be a result of the power antenna wire not being spliced to the correct wire.

you mean you only used one wire for power? was the car off when you installed it? because the accessory/switched power wire would get no current if the car is off, but it is still necessary to hook up to the radio. it sounds like thats what the problem is. The red wire from the radio should go to the accessory/switched power wire from the car

EDIT: the yellow wire from the radio goes to the constant power wire (the one that gets power when the car is off)

Yeah, I really hope you used a harness too. I can never understand why people would not sacrafice 10 bucks for a more professional, clean, and easy setup.

A) You've connected to power wire to the constant instead of to the 'on when ignition switch is turned to on' line. Switch it.
B) Probably just the wrong wire like you did with the power. Check your connections.

Sounds like you forgot to hook up the ACC turn on lead. It should be a very small grey wire.

If you want you can tap into the ciggarette lighter wire.

ok first i did buy 3 harness adapters now... none of them fit either of the harnesses on the factory hu nor the factory amp. so i had no other decision but to hardwire it. i have installed many stereos in the past and this is the only one to give me problems. the car was running when i hooked it up so i can find the ground and power when i tried turning on the radio..cam2xrunner which grey wire is it? there are 2 or 3 down there. each of them have a colored stripe. so the yellow goes to constant hot, the red (power) goes to the grey (with whichever color stripe. the all blue power antenna wire goes to which wire on the car? there is 2 or 3 greys with stripes and a brown left with no connection to them. (and yes they have been protected to ensure no cross arcing or shorting if you will)

The grey wire is typically very thin, and just grey.
